Mary Jane's Last Dance - A Tribute to Tom Petty, Steve Mathieson as Tom Petty
Mary Jane's Last Dance - Steve Mathieson

Steve Mathieson

At 12, Steve taught himself to play guitar. He learned how to play guitar and sing songs by THE EAGLES, NEIL YOUNG, and TOM PETTY.
In addition to playing the songs from these singers/musicians, he found that he was able to sound like them as well. Steve says, “I don’t know why I did this, I just felt that if I was going to do a song by an artist, I wanted to sing and hear it the way they originally performed it “.

He was able to emulate various other artists such as BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, ELVIS COSTELLO, DAVID BOWIE AND ROD STEWART.
When he was younger, Steve used to have a shag haircut similar to Rod Stewart so people were constantly approaching him and calling him Rod.

In the early 90’s, impersonators were becoming popular and this prompted Steve to perform his tribute to ROD STEWART in The Rod Stewart Review.
Now you can see him with his band – MARY JANE'S LAST DANCE performing the songs of Tom Petty. Gone is the shag haircut, now he looks and sounds like Tom.

Come out and see the ULTIMATE Tribute to Tom Petty in MARY JANE'S LAST DANCE!!
